Description: | Violence against women has structural and cultural bases in a social system. It occurs daily among individuals, families or groups, causing long-lasting damage. The study proposes to the territory as a configurator the profile of violence against women in the city of Toluca, Mexico. With the analysis of 237 allegations made by women assaulted, it is noted that 72 out of 100 married or free union women identify the spouse or partner as aggressor; The victims exhibit that there is no distinction of age, socioeconomic level or instruction, alluding that the roots of the problem derive from situations of economic and social crisis recreating violent behaviors learned in the family as well as in the environment. The dispersed and concentrated pattern of violence includes urban, suburban and rural areas of the municipality, the city centre stands out with the largest number of records. Based on the allegations, an Index of violence by Municipal delegation (IDV) was proposed for Toluca, which in correlation with socio-demographic variables can be replicated in the 125 municipalities of the state of México to focus areas and critical points and to promote the prevention, correction and mitigation of the problem. Data processing was done using GIS tools (ArcMap 9.3) and Statistical software (SPAW v18). El origen de la violencia contra la mujer se encuentra en las bases estructurales y culturales del sistema social. Se produce en ámbitos cotidianos y relaciones forzadas que provocan daños de larga duración en los individuos, familias y grupos. El estudio propone al territorio como configurador del perfil de la violencia contra la mujer en la ciudad de Toluca, México. Con el análisis de 237 denuncias expuestas por mujeres agredidas, se advierte que 72 de cada 100 mujeres casadas o en unión libre, identifican al cónyuge o pareja como agresor; las víctimas exhiben que no hay distinción de edad, nivel socioeconómico o de instrucción, aludiendo que las raíces del problema derivan de situaciones de crisis económica y social recreando comportamientos violentos aprendidos tanto en la familia como en el entorno. El patrón disperso y concentrado de la de violencia incluye áreas urbanas suburbanas y rurales del municipio, destacando el centro con mayor cantidad de registros. A partir de las denuncias se propone un índice Delegacional de Violencia (IDV) para Toluca, mismo que en correlación con variables sociodemográficas, puede replicarse en los 125 municipios del Estado de México para focalizar áreas y puntos críticos de prevención, corrección y mitigación. El procesamiento de los datos se realizó empleando herramientas SIG (ArcMap 9.3) y software SPAW Statistics v18. Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología. |
