A partir de una breve exposición del modelo clásico del sistema turístico, que ha predominado en los círculos académicos en nuestro país du rante las dos últimas décadas, en el presente artículo se señalan los nuevos aportes sobre la teoría de sistemas desde el cam po de la sociología; al distinguir particularmente la teoría de Niklas Luhmann y describir en forma general sus planteamientos.
