The first one consisted of establishing a link the between poverty levels reached, and socioeconomic development levels that American countries falsely aspired to at the end of the 20th century. For this purpose a series of classifications were elaborated, in which these countries were divided into five groups based on indicators related to poverty, economics, education and health.
