dc.descriptionDifferent approaches of environmental problems are described in this paper, considering simplist and complex conceptions, and neomarxist and symbolic interpretations. This article also reviews a brief history of environmental education from an interinstitutional and interdisciplinary perspective, and discusses some pedagogical elements related to this matter. Finally, models of environmental education of the interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplnary type are exposed, emphasizing the necessity to foment the latter one.-
