In adverse environments and facing the lack of opportunities, situations of social disability can arise, which force us to rethink, from the social sciences, situations of exclusion, discrimination and abuse toward this population. It seeks to make their rights effective, from the ideology of the deficit to the paradigm of difference. Discapacidad es la pérdida o disminución de aptitudes o habilidades físicas, mentales o sensoriales, derivadas de alguna deficiencia fisiológica, anatómica o psicológica, que limita, dificulta o impide la realización de actividades cotidianas. En ambientes adversos y ante la falta de oportunidades puede arribarse a situaciones de minusvalía social, lo cual obliga a repensar, desde las ciencias sociales, las situaciones de exclusión, discriminación y maltrato hacia esta población. Se busca hacer efectivos sus derechos, pasando de la ideología del déficit al paradigma de la diferencia. |
