humanos.
Abstrac: In this thesis I discuss the relevance of self-respect in the Theory of Justice of Rawls´s. To
achieve this objective, first of all, I examine the contento of the work Theory of Justice and later the
importance and centrality of self-respect in rawlseano thought. Thirdly, I specify the bases that
support self- respec within his theory and the place that education occupies within the Theory of
Justice. Finally, I discuss the guiding role of reciprocal recognition and self-respect in justifying the
principles of justice as fairness.
When analyzing the rawlsiana theory on social justice and education, it is concluded that this
relationship can be used to think about justice in education, thanks to topics such as: the
unquestionable problem of inequality; how significant self-respect is, because it is a value of utmost
importance for the cognitive development of the student and inescapable for the well-being of
human.
