Abstract

El catálogo “Carnavales del Oriente del Estado de México. La alegría que une a los pueblos” es un producto de retribución social derivado de una investigación etnográfica desarrollada entre 2024 y 2025 por la Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México en colaboración con Leeds Beckett University (Inglaterra). Reúne la memoria, testimonios y expresiones visuales de diez carnavales de la región oriente, destacando su papel como espacios de identidad, creatividad y resistencia comunitaria. A través de fotografías, entrevistas y descripciones interpretativas, el catálogo documenta la vitalidad de estas celebraciones y su potencial transformador hacia sociedades más inclusivas y equitativas. / The brochure “Carnivals of the eastern region of the State of Mexico. The joy that unites communities” is a product of social retribution derived from ethnographic research conducted between 2024 and 2025 by the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México in collaboration with Leeds Beckett University (UK). It brings together the memory, testimonies and visual expressions of ten carnivals in the eastern region, highlighting their role as spaces of identity, creativity and community resistance. Through photographs, interviews and interpretative descriptions, the brochure documents the vitality of these celebrations and their transformative potential towards more inclusive and equitable societies.
