This chapter seeks to establish a connection between sustainability and the artisanal pottery production of Metepec, a renowned tourist spot in the State of Mexico famed for its crafts, especially the iconic ‘Árbol de la vida’. It examines sustainability through its ecological, economic, cultural, social, and political dimensions, drawing on interviews with artisans and an analysis of relevant legal frameworks.
